The story behind the center
About Us
Mecosta County Kids began with a simple habit: sharing good things for local families to do.
From event sharing to a place of our own.
I'm Jennifer Brynelsen Fovozzo, a Big Rapids-area mom of three. What began as a hobby collecting local events and sharing fun, affordable activities grew into park meetups and stronger connections with other families.
Over time, I began thinking about what we could offer with a space of our own: an affordable shop in front, activities and hands-on learning in back, and eventually more resources for technology and skill building.
I'm investing my own savings to get it started. That means starting with equipment and ideas we can realistically support, inviting help where it's needed, and letting the community's response guide how we grow.
I'm excited about the possibilities, but I also want people to know exactly what we're building and what still needs work.
Mecosta County Kids Discovery Center Thrift & Gift is owned and operated by Untrained Momentum LLC. Our aim is to keep participation affordable and create useful opportunities for kids, teens and adults in the Big Rapids community.
