About Mecosta County Kids
I’m Jen, a Big Rapids mom. Events would disappear in a Facebook scroll, I’d remember a place I wanted to try three weeks too late, and somehow Saturday would arrive with me asking, “Okay, what are we doing today?” Mecosta County Kids grew out of fixing that problem for my own family.
One useful local place to check when you need an event, an outing, a class, a homeschool resource, a sports program or just something to do with the kids. Not a pile of old listings. Not a page full of national filler. If something changes, I want the site to change with it.
I’ve spent more than a decade working in technology, and I now run Untrained Momentum while building projects of my own. That background is useful here: I can turn scattered calendars, local information and community submissions into something much easier for families to use.
Mason is still the best quality-control department I have. If an idea sounds great on a website but would bore an actual kid, that matters.
Mecosta County comes first. Nearby events can make the cut when they are genuinely worth the drive.
I would rather have fewer useful listings than keep outdated businesses, expired deals or old dates around just to make a page look full.
Events are only part of it. The goal is a growing library of activities, seasonal ideas, family resources and places worth knowing about.
If you have a correction, a local resource or an idea that belongs here, email [email protected]. If you’re submitting an event, use the event form so I get all the details in one place.
